Following pressure from various Freedom of Information activist groups, the Fire Marshalls have agreed to release a number of previously classified documents into the publlic domain.
Under what they are calling “The Fifteen Year Rule”, previously unseen archives will be upened up over a number of months starting today.
The archive contains hundreds of photos as well as documents and the website support team may need your help in identifying faces.
A spokesman for the Fire Marshalls said, “The Brigade has nothing to hide and we welcome the opportunity to share our history with the village.”
Realeased this month:
- Two cuttings from the Evening Telegraph dated 1998-1999
- Two miscellaneous designs
- More photos from the Christening of Eleanor
- High resolution photos from the 1987 trip to Swynnerton
- Photo of the Brigade in front of the engine (early 1980s)
- Six unidentified photos – your help needed!
More files are promised of the coming months, so keep an eye out on the website for future updates!
