GVFB archives to be opened up

a0911-017Following pressure from various Freedom of Information activist groups, the Fire Marshalls have agreed to release a number of previously classified documents into the publlic domain.

Under what they are calling “The Fifteen Year Rule”, previously unseen archives will be upened up over a number of months starting today.

1987 – Swynnerton

a0911-009In 1987, Fireman Major John Hughes invited members of the Brigade, on behalf of Lt. Colonel Chris Eager, to visit his TA training camp and On 7th November the Commanding Officer, Fireman Spence, together with about fifteen firemen left Geddington for a weekend at Swynnerton.
