Great Adventure 2018 – Reeth

We’ve successfully returned from our adventure to the village of Reeth, in Yorkshire, where we investigated the roots of the Brigade’s founder.  Activities included a trip to the historic village of Masham – and a tour of the Black Sheep Brewery there – and finishing with the assent of High Harker Hill.

Thank you to the Friends of the Church for hosting yet another successful Great Geddington Garage Sale, and thank you to all those who bought from our stall.  Monies raised help support our activities in the community, such as the Senior Citizens’ Dinner and our street-cleaning efforts.

2012 Burnt Offerings

Congratulations to all the entrants to the 2012 GVFB “bake-off” for the excellent and tasty efforts. The three winning Pie-keteers were:

  1. Section Leader Byers with Fish Surprise
  2. Brigade Major Streatfield with Traditional Steak and Kidney (his first ever)
  3. Fireman Downhill with Traditional Cornish Pasties

Thanks to all the entrants and better luck next year.

Next year Games night will run from Thursday 3rd January 2012 to Thursday 31st January 2013, the next great GVFB “bake-off”.  Entrants are required to provide a baked pasta dish sufficient for four.  (For those in doubt, the key word is Italian).
